Jesmonite AC100 batch calculator
Calculate AC100 base powder and liquid from a batch target or either component already weighed.
2.5:1 AC100 Base (powder):AC100 Liquid by weight
How to use this calculator
- Choose your starting point and enter the mass.
- Calculate and weigh both components; measuring-cup volumes do not use this recipe.
- For colour, use the linked pigment tool to scale your recipe and track the finished mass.
Worked example
A 700 g unpigmented AC100 batch uses 700 × 2.5 ÷ 3.5 = 500 g base powder and 700 ÷ 3.5 = 200 g liquid. If those 200 g of liquid are already weighed, select that starting point and the calculator returns the same 500 g powder. A chosen 1% pigment addition is 7 g, producing 707 g finished mixture.
Questions about this calculation
Is the AC100 ratio powder to liquid or liquid to powder?
The standard weight ratio is 2.5 parts base powder to 1 part liquid. For 100 g liquid, use 250 g powder. For 100 g powder, use 40 g liquid.
Does a 1 kg target include pigment?
Here, 1 kg means base + liquid only. Adding pigment increases the finished mass. For a target that already includes pigment, choose finished mixture in the pigment tool, then transfer its unpigmented mass back here.
How much pigment can I add?
The manufacturer’s guide caps combined pigment at 2% of mixed AC100 base + liquid, equivalent to 20 g pigment per 1 kg unpigmented material. The result shows that cap, not a recommended colour loading.
Can I use this for AC730 or a modified formulation?
This page calculates the standard AC100 recipe. Other Jesmonite systems, fillers and modified recipes require their own product instructions; no adjustment is inferred here.
